On the trail of the wonders of nature

July 2013

The Activity Centre's Woodland Walk

Come with us and marvel at the great outdoor world as we venture around the grounds on our Alan Shearer Centre nature trails this summer.

You will be able to explore the mini world of the undergrowth and get the low down on crawly creatures great and small, wander in wonder through the trees on our wheelchair accessible woodland path, be on look-out for our squirrels and rabbits and see if you can spot our Great Spotted Woodpecker that can be seen daily on our feeders!

Whether you want to go searching the woods for wildlife or sit and listen to the blast of birdsong - there’s an array of sensory possibilities as we seek out the sights, smells and sounds of our garden surroundings.

Nature trails take place between 11am and noon for adults, and 3pm and 4pm for children on Friday 19 July. Book your free place by calling the Alan Shearer Centre on 0191 267 8118.

The nature trails are just the start of our Summer of Fun events at the Alan Shearer Centre. Find out more about all the adventures, activities and entertainment in store.
