A Summer of Fun at the Alan Shearer Centre

July 2013

Summer Fun at the Alan Shearer Centre

We're all set for a fun-packed summer at the Alan Shearer Centre with activities and entertainment for all.

Dancing sessions, a treasure hunt, teddy bears' picnic, story-telling and a summer disco are among the treats in store for Alan Shearer Centre members throughout July and August.

One of the highlights of the summer of fun is the Scales and Tails event on August 16th which involves a visit by an array of marvellous creatures.

"They bring the zoo to you with their amazing animals. It's lots of fun and educational too," said Debbie Ray, the Centre's new Activities Co-ordinator. "Children and adults can look, touch, listen and learn about the animals. It's a completely unique experience!"

Kicking off events, as the schools break up, we go on the hunt for creature tracks and mini beasties, fragrant blooms and woodland flora on our Nature Trail day on Friday 19 July.

You can find a complete list of events below - and watch this space for more details.

Almost all the events are completely FREE, but please contact reception on 0191 267 8118 to book your place.
