A Lott Fundraised for ASF!

April 2013

The Happy Cats

A charity evening staged by North Tyneside Council's Chairman, Frank Lott, has raised over £2,500 for the Alan Shearer Foundation and Macmillan.

Inspired to support the work of the Foundation after hearing about it at the charity's inaugural ball last November Councillor Lott hosted the event in Wallsend to fundraise for his chosen good causes.

Civic representatives from Local Authorities across Tyne and Wear attended the Lindisfarne Social Club, along with councillors and officers from North Tyneside and members of the public. Over 100 people bought tickets to the event which included an auction and a performance by local band The Happy Cats.

To boost the fundraising total further a raffle is being held with prizes including an overnight stay at the Grand Hotel in Tynemouth, £50 worth of Eldon Square vouchers and bottle of champagne from the Houses of Parliament. Tickets cost £1 for five and are available from the Chairman's Office at North Tyneside Council and St Cuthberts Care's head office.

The draw will take place on Wednesday 15 May, the day before Cllr Lott's tenure as chairman ends.
