Alan Shearer Centre partygoers enjoy a hot summer night

July 2013

It was certainly a House of Fun at the Alan Shearer Centre this week when singer Michael Clark kicked off his live set with the Madness song at our summer party.

Returning to the Centre for the second time to perform his musical mix from across the decades entertainer, Michael, said conditions were very different from his last visit in February when the weather was freezing for our Valentine dance. This time disco tunes and pop numbers filled the warm, evening air as partygoers showed off their dance moves, socialised and enjoyed the company of friends at the popular over 18s bash.

Guests staying at the Alan Shearer Centre Short Break Centre boosted the numbers as they came along to join in the fun which spilled out onto the patio area where people could relax in the balmy, summer atmosphere.

A finger buffet, prepared with the help of some Alan Shearer Foundation volunteers, and plenty of cold, soft drinks helped to keep the dancers going and revived energies during the evening.

There are more summer events throughout July and August at the Centre, so check out our programme for more information.
