2013 Great North Run logo

If you are taking part in this year’s Great North Run why not heighten your sense of achievement at crossing the finish line by doing it for a great north charity?

You could take part in this iconic, athletic occasion in the name of one of the region’s most famous sporting sons, Alan Shearer, and run it for his Foundation, supporting children and adults with profound disabilities and sensory impairments.

“We’ll provide you with an Alan Shearer Foundation logo running vest, sponsorship forms and tips on fundraising for the charity,” says Foundation Operations Manager, Nicola Milne. “All sponsorship money will be used towards our goal of raising £250,000 a year to allow us to keep the specialist resources at the Alan Shearer Centre free for disabled users, to enable us to offer some free short breaks at the facility and to help us pioneer disability services across the North East.”

If you have a place in the run on September 15 and would like to join our team please contact Nicola Milne on 0191 229 0111 for more information and an official sponsorship form. Or you can email Nicola at nicola.milne@stcuthbertscare.org.uk.

Use your 13 mile Great North Run challenge to help make a difference to thousands of disabled people’s lives.
