A stash of treasure and booty has been hauled in at the Alan Shearer Activity Centre this week.

Bernadette Clark, the Community Life Champion, from the local Asda in Lemington dropped in at the Centre to hand over a cheque for £50 as a donation from the store through shoppers' community token voting scheme.

When Bernadette heard about our children's Princesses and Pirates party being held this Saturday she organised the delivery of a donation of sweets and prizes for the event.

"We really appreciate the continuing support we receive from Asda, the staff and their shoppers," said Centre manager, Amanda Head, "Donations like this help us to maintain free use of our specialist facilities and enhance the activities we provide."

The children's party is being held from noon until 2pm at the Alan Shearer Centre on 26 July. Call the Centre on 0191 2678118 to book your free place and see our latest events leaflet to see what else is in store this summer.
