Meeting birds of prey at the Alan Shearer Activity Centre

Fun, fluff and feathers have featured in our fantastic summer holiday entertainment programme at the Activity Centre this weekend.

Mr Windbags made a magical appearance to delight children (and adults!) with a hilarious performance of tricks, illusions and balloon modelling during his show.

Despite the bad weather there was also a great turnout for the arrival of birds of prey from the travelling menagerie of creatures, Feathers, Fluff and Fangs.

"Nearly everyone had a go at holding the animals and interacted really well," said activities coordinator, Emma Jewers. "Both events were very well received and everyone really enjoyed themselves."

Emma has promised to book both acts for future appearances at the centre.

Meanwhile, this week's special events include a summer garden party and disco for adults on Thursday 7 August from 6pm – 9pm, a performance by Magic Myrtle at noon on Friday 8 August and interactive storytelling with Gary Cordingley at 11am on Saturday 9.
