Keeping it in the family at the Alan Shearer Centre

St Catherine's residents at the Alan Shearer Centre

The Alan Shearer Centre has been playing host to another in the St Cuthberts Care's "family of services" when some of our care home residents paid a visit.

St Catherine's residents were invited to view the facilities for people with disabilities and enjoy the hospitality of the specialist Centre when they went on a jaunt to their neighbours' down the road in Newcastle.

A fabulous cream tea spread was laid on in Browne's Café while the home's activities coordinator, Richard Dobinson, enjoyed a change of scenery himself and entertained his group of residents in the Centre with a music quiz.

A visit to the Alan Shearer Centre is planned for residents from our Sunderland care home, Holy Cross, next month.

"It's fantastic to be able to offer this unique opportunity to visit to residents from our own care homes", said Amanda Head, St Cuthberts Care operational manager.

"It will be good to invite them to come in the warmer weather when they will also be able to enjoy our lovely, fully accessible, grounds and sensory gardens," she added.
