Child at using sensory equipment at the Alan Shearer Centre

Alan Shearer Centre managers have been in Middlesbrough today (Wednesday) showcasing the fabulous events, activities and facilities on offer for disabled children in Newcastle.

With the school holidays just around the corner Alan Shearer Centre manager, Amanda Head, and our Short Break and Residential manager, Jackie Dunn, had a trip to the south of the region armed with some great ideas of how families caring for children with disabilities could spend their summer.

The Information Day at the Neptune Leisure Centre, Middlesbrough, was organised by Parents 4 Change to give carers details about the support and services available in the North East. It also provided an opportunity to learn about changes in the law affecting children with special educational needs and disabilities.

If you couldn't be on Teesside today then you can find out more about our activities this summer and see information on respite breaks at the Alan Shearer Centre by visiting our website pages at www.alanshearercentre.org.uk, or you can call Jackie on 0191 267 8128 and she will be delighted to help.
