Shearer Centre staff pop the question at Valentine's Day do!

Valentine's ball

What is love? What is Valentine's Day? and, How do Eskimos kiss? were among the questions posed at this year's Valentine's Day ball at the Alan Shearer Centre.

The multiple choice quiz was part of the entertainment for adults with disabilities at the February 14th event - along with dancing, drinking and dating!

Pouring rain on Friday night didn't dampen the spirits as partygoers enjoyed a buffet including heart shaped cookies, and a boogie to dance numbers played by the DJ at the Centre, which was decorated with red rose petals, balloons and romantic bunting.

"(This is the) First Valentine's disco for us. Barbara enjoyed it very much and thank you for a lovely night. An extra thank you for the staff making Barbara feeling so welcome - good food too!" Shirley & Trish, Barbara's support workers, commented afterwards.
