Samson Aviation Wing Walkers

Supporters have been looping the loop and defying the ground in a fabulous daredevil display to take the Alan Shearer Foundation sky high!

Paula Ives and Gill Caleary from Samson Aviation, the private jet facility at Newcastle International Airport, took part a wingwalk aerobatic display at the launch of this weekend's Sunderland Airshow today (Friday).

The pair were strapped to two of the Breitling Wing Walkers biplanes while they performed stunts and close formation fly pasts for 20 minutes at speeds of up to 150mph.

"It was amazing! Absolutely fabulous!" said an exhilarated Paula afterwards.

"We wanted to raise some money for The Alan Shearer Foundation which is Samson’s chosen charity and very close to our hearts," she said.

The couple have so far raised over £3,000 for the Foundation which supports the work and development of Alan Shearer Centre in Newcastle, our highly specialist social, respite and residential provision for children and adults with complex disabilities and acute sensory impairments.

Anyone who would like to donate the Foundation can do so at by visiting the Samson Virgin Money Giving page.
