Call to lend a hand this Lent

Volunteers

St Cuthberts Care is asking for people to give their time to help others and volunteer at one of the charity's projects around the region.

As well as traditional attempts at abstemious conduct in the run up to Easter we are calling on people to "lend a hand for Lent" with a wide range of opportunities to get involved.

"We would like people to join us to share their skills and experience," said Volunteer Co-ordinator, Nicola Milne. "We are particularly keen to hear from people who can help out at our Live and Learn activity sessions for disabled adults at the Alan Shearer Centre, those who would like to support residents in our nursing homes, or perhaps those who have crafty or professional talents to demonstrate."

From giving free advice and business know-how to staff, to offering your hands on skills for our service users, we would be happy to hear from anyone with a flair they can share – from solicitors to face painters, PR gurus to physiotherapists.

"Why not make this Lent an opportunity to do something worthwhile to help others in the community by making a commitment to make difference?" says Nicola.

If you would like to give some time or share your specialist abilities with the charity then browse the list of opportunities available on the volunteering pages on our website or contact Nicola on 0191 267 8118, email nicola.milne@stcuthbertscare.org.uk.
