Making friends with the Scales n Tails animal menagerie at the Alan Shearer Centre

Preparations are being made for a summer of fun and games at the Alan Shearer Activity Centre.

As the school term draws to a close this week we have been planning a host of activities and events to keep everyone happily entertained - starting with the creation of our own mini beaches at centre this Saturday, 18 July.

Events for the rest of the month include a teddy bears' picnic on Tuesday 21, a children's woodland walk on Thursday 23 and a fun keep fit session on Friday 24 when we will be encouraging everyone to show us some dance moves!

The ever-popular Scales 'n' Tails animal encounters crew will be returning to the centre on Saturday 25 July when they will be introducing their menagerie of furry friends and crawly creatures to visitors. While on Tuesday, 28 July, we'll be mixing up some delicious and refreshing summer fruit smoothies.

All events listed start at noon and you can find more details on our latest leaflet or call the Activity Centre on 0191 267 8118 to book your free places.
