A host of holiday fun is in store at the Alan Shearer Activity Centre this Easter.

On Good Friday the Centre is open, from noon until 3pm, for arts and crafts plus we will have all the ingredients you need to make your own yummy Easter egg.

We'll be "All Shook Up" on Saturday 4 April when an Elvis impersonator enters the building. The event from 1pm to 3pm includes an American style buffet and the opportunity for some pelvis gyrating to some classic hits from "The King".

On Easter Monday there will be an egg hunt around the Centre with prizes and fun for all the family.

Instead of Easter chicks there will be birds of a different feather on display on Wednesday 8 April when we invite Ridgeside Falconry to the Centre's grounds to show their birds of prey. Swoop by if you would like to hold a hawk or ogle an owl!

If you aren't already full of Easter goodies the Centre is holding another of our popular Chocolate Days on Thursday 9 April. There will be a chocolate fountain, treats and games with a delicious, chocolatey theme throughout the day.

It's party time on Saturday 11 April with two hours of dancing, magic and balloon fun from noon while the following Monday we are holding a hot cross bun making session. Learn some new recipes and try them out on 13 April.

Furry friends and crawly creatures are on show on Thursday 16 April when the Scales and Tails menagerie make a welcome return visit to the Centre from noon.

We are rounding off the Easter holidays with a party bonanza! Disco entertainment in celebratory style with a fun finger food buffet from 12 to 2pm.

All events are free to members, but call the Centre in advance to book your place on 0191 267 8118. For more details see our Easter Fun events leaflet.
