Snow business for Live and Learners

There are snow scenes indoors as well as outside at the Alan Shearer Centre this week.

During last week's Live and Learn sessions for learning disabled adults Tom Parry, a recreation assistant at the activity centre, made a theme of the winter snow and ice festival held in China, and around the world, during which huge frozen sculptures and palaces are created. In their arts and crafts sessions Live and Learners created their own "frieze" depicting some icy images which is now adorning the wall in the Centre.

They followed this later in the week by "making faces" with a collage of some huge funny features.

For this week's theme Tom is highlighting some famous US landmarks when we commemorate the American civil rights leader for Martin Luther King day. Then we'll be gearing up for a tartan-tastic time celebrating Robbie Burns day on Friday with a live piper and a Scottish haggis!
