Representatives from the Alan Shearer Centre will be taking part in an event in Newcastle this week aimed at families caring for a disabled young person aged 12 or over.

The Transition Market Place information day is organised by the Northeast Special Needs Network and will include free seminars on topics including post 16 options and educational packages, housing information and access to employment.

Staff at the Alan Shearer Centre stall will be on hand to provide information and advice on all of our specialist activities, short breaks and residential services.

Other stall holders include local colleges, employment and volunteering specialists and community based providers.

The Transition Market Place takes place on Wednesday 8 July from 11am to 5pm at Key House, Tankerville Place, Newcastle, NE2 3AT.

Anyone who is unable to attend, but would like more information about what the Alan Shearer Centre has to offer should contact the Centre Manager, Amanda Head on 0191 2678118 or email amanda.head@alanshearercentre.org.uk.
