Alan Shearer visit adds to the magic of Christmas

A crowd of people enjoying themselves in the reception area of the Alan Shearer Activity Centre

Guess who joined Santa and his elves, a Snow Queen, reindeer and a fairy to make a perfect Christmas celebration for disabled children at our Alan Shearer Centre?

Children and adults alike were delighted when Alan Shearer himself joined in the festive fun at our Activity Centre yesterday where there was a surprise at every turn.

As well as all the magical guests and our very special VIP, there was face painting, a ventriloquist, a delicious buffet and all the fun of the Centre's fabulous facilities, dressed up in its seasonal best for the occasion.

Pupils from Benton Dene School in Newcastle were among the guests attending and, after the event, class teacher, Joe Massey, said, "It was an amazing day. The children all had a fantastic time. They will remember this Christmas party as a special time that they enjoyed and were able to full participate in. Every child deserves a Christmas party! Thanks to the Alan Shearer Centre my class really experienced a party this year."
