Boo!-tiful time at our Halloween events

A packed house for our Halloween event

Ghoulish celebrations were a big hit at our Alan Shearer Activity Centre, with people packing in to share and scare, including quite a few guests from our other disability services.

The children's party was packed with fun and games, like musical statues and hook-a-pumpkin, with prizes for the best spooky dance up for grabs, too.

The evening get-together for adults was probably the biggest party celebration the Centre had seen with witches and wizards rubbing shoulders with ghosts and ghouls and the odd zombie thrown in for good measure!

Everyone had great fun admiring each other's creative fancy dress outfits, indulging in some ghoulish cupcakes and dancing the time away.

Staff and service users had worked hard together over the previous week to make sure the Centre looked its best for the events, with the hand-crafted decorations really stealing the show.

"It was really busy and both events were great fun," said one of the Centre's recreation assistants, Yvonne Leonard.

Next up in the busy round of Activity Centre free events are the bonfire celebrations. Book yourself a place by ringing the Centre on 0191 2678118.
