Crafts session makes for a truly horrible Halloween!

The arts and crafts session at our Alan Shearer Activity Centre took a particularly spooky turn this week when our members packed in to prepare for Halloween.

Tables were filled with paper plates, sticky eyes, glow-in-the-dark stickers, Frankenstein masks and all the sticky tape needed to create a truly spooktacular look for trick or treating.

Thanks to the creative imagination of those who attended and a little help where needed from our fiendishly clever recreation assistants, everyone was able to take home a creepy creation to add to their Halloween costume or hang on their wall.

"It was great to see so many people turn up for our special craft session," said Recreation Assistant, Jan Rootham. "The care and patience that went into making everything just the way they wanted them was incredible and there were some quite horrifying creations at the end of the day!"

If you missed your chance to come along, don't worry, there's still time to book your free place on our next few Halloween activities. So, if you fancy a spell at making some beastly biscuits or creating a ghastly ghoul or even doing the 'Monster Mash' at our Halloween Disco, give our Centre a ring on 0191 2678118.
