Live and Learn regular, Linda wearing her crown

Adults with learning disabilities attending our recent Live and Learn skills session at the Alan Shearer Centre couldn't wait to use their artistic talents to mark the Queen's birthday.

The group of regular visitors surrounded themselves with a selection of jewel stickers, coloured pencils, crayons, brushes and paint which were all used to create magnificent pictures of crowns, Beefeaters and all things royal. There were even foam crowns to bejewel and wear!

At the end of the session, the regal creations were displayed alongside impressive hand-made cards, wishing Her Majesty a very happy 90th birthday.

"Everyone had a great time preparing for the Queen's birthday celebrations," said Activity Centre Recreation Assistant, Jan Rootham. "We're all looking forward to another special celebration in June."
