Saturday, March 12 is Disabled Access Day – as good a day as any to discover all the free, accessible benefits of our Alan Shearer Activity Centre.

What's more, we'll be holding our Dino Day craft event between 12 noon and 2pm when you can come along and make your very own dinosaur. We have everything you need, just bring your imagination!

Our Activity Centre is ideal for disabled children and adults of all ages, with free access to a range of sensory rooms, a creative music room, giant ball pool and accessible grounds and gardens – including our brand new specialist outdoor play area. Our extended and improved hydro pool will also be available from the end of May.

"Everything is on one level and we have full sized changing beds, wide doors and corridors and hoists in each room," said the Centre's Recreation Assistant, Yvonne Leonard. "We're fairly busy this Saturday, but why not give us a ring and see what's available or come along to our Dino Day event."

Membership of the Activity Centre is free and gives free access to all the specialist facilities available. Ring Yvonne or one of her colleagues at the Centre on 0191 2678118 for more information or to book your place at our Dino Day craft event.
