Get crafty for Halloween

Lantern making at the Centre

Members and guests at our Alan Shearer Activity Centre have already started preparing for a spook-tacular Halloween, but there's plenty more free activities lined up to help make your trick or treating fun.

Our first Halloween craft session attracted a good crowd with everyone showing off their creative flair to make some fang-tastic lanterns to take home with them.

But, if you missed all the action, don't worry, why not come along to one of our other scarily good sessions.

On Monday, 23rd October, you can bring along all of those old and ragged clothes you no longer need and turn them into the smartest scarecrow. Or, if that's not for you, how about creating some spooky decorations for your door on Friday (Fright-day) 27th October? Both sessions are free for our members and take place between 12 noon and 2pm.

Our fiendishly creative recreation assistants will be on hand to help anyone who needs a little extra support, but you'll need to book your place before you come along. Just give us a ring at the Centre on 0191 267 8118 and we'll be expecting you.

If you would like to become a member of our specialist Centre for children and adults with disabilities, give us a ring on Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm and we'll fill in a membership form for you over the phone; or, if you prefer, you can print off a membership form from our website.
