A sweet surprise for Alan Shearer Centre young visitors

Caroline and Jill from DWP delivering their donated chocolate oranges

Staff from the Department of Work and Pensions have again been delivering some Christmas cheer to our Alan Shearer Centre.

Thomas and Matthew, from our Alan Shearer Specialist Residential Home, came downstairs to the Activity Centre to see a donation of nearly 200 chocolate oranges arriving from the department's Benton office.

DWP's Caroline Bullivant and colleague Jill Webster were met by long-standing volunteer Carolyn, who received the donation on behalf of the Centre. After everyone had posed with the tempting stocking-fillers, they were safely put away for distribution to younger members, visiting the centre during the Christmas week.

The Alan Shearer Centre was one of 10 charities who benefitted from the generosity of Caroline's department, who are distributing over 1600 oranges this Christmas.

On behalf of all our members and guests, many thanks to Caroline, Jill and their colleagues for their kindness.
