Pots of good things at our Alan Shearer Centre

Activity Centre member Charlie decorating his plant pot

Alan Shearer Activity Centre members have been getting creative and trying a bit of upcycling.

Unwanted jars and containers were converted into attractive, sparkling mini-vases by regulars at a Live & Learn arts and crafts session for adults with learning disabilities. Covered with glass beads and sequins, the recycled jars were ideal for small flower arrangements or just storing those little bits and pieces you have lying around, but can never find when you need them.

Plant pots also got a make-over at one of the Centre's regular free organised activities. Members used their decorated pots to sow sunflower or scented herb seeds.

Charlie, pictured, chose to plant some rosemary seeds in his hand-decorated plant pot and has taken them home to nurture!
