Alan Shearer Centre users help at bag pack

Some Alan Shearer Centre members have been bag packing to help raise funds for the Foundation.

St Cuthberts Care’s independent supported living service users joined a team of volunteers on Sunday helping shoppers at ASDA, Gosforth, to raise over £660 for the Alan Shearer Foundation.

Members of the group attend the Alan Shearer Centre’s weekly Live & Learn activity sessions for adults with disabilities as well as the some of the Centre’s special events. After a stint at packing groceries the team went for some well-earned refreshments at the in-store café.

“This was only the second time the charity has conducted a bag pack and we have been amazed at the great response and the amount raised,” said Adele Southern, St Cuthberts Care Communications Manager. “We are really grateful to all our volunteer helpers, to ASDA and all the shoppers who donated.”
