Karl Jeffery show

Karl Jeffery and his cast of colourful characters kicked off the entertainment for kids at the Alan Shearer Centre this week with an act involving magical tricks and sweetie treats.

Naughty Willy'M, Douglas the forgetful bird and Itchy the ginger monkey were among the stars of the show brought by magical ventriloquist Karl to perform for disabled children and their families at the start of the Easter holidays.

A rapt audience enjoyed the puppet pranks and were amazed by the magical performance by entertainer Karl, who is the winner of a Favourite award.

"My granddaughter had a wonderful time at the show and we were very welcomed," said Mrs Crudace, while the Matthew family commented afterwards: "We love it - nice to have a place to share with the whole family as siblings of special needs kids sometimes feel left out."

Easter holiday activities continue next week with bonnet and basket making and hot cross bun baking. See our activities leaflet for more details and call the centre on 0191 267 8118 to book a place.
