We're kicking off the summer holidays at the Centre by making some noise!

This Saturday, 19 July, there will be a workshop for children run by Sustainable Sounds where participants are encouraged to create noise, rhythm and sounds from scrap.

Serious issues, such as waste disposal and recycling are combined with fun elements of constructing and playing musical instruments through which the children can learn about sound and develop musical and numeric skills, teamwork and group interaction.

The tutor has been experimenting with sounds since childhood, is a freelance composer, educator and performer and has led successful junk music workshops and performances at national and international festivals, schools, family events and for television.

The Sustainable Sounds session is the first in a series of free events over the summer to be held at the Centre. See our leaflet for more details and call us on 0191 267 8118 to book your place.
